Turn Off the TV, Seriously?

Okay, so I got a note home from school this week. Apparently the week of April 21 – 27, 2008 is National TV Turn Off Week. If our family makes it a whole week with the TV off, my son, Breck will have his name drawn for a prize. Now in principle, I love this idea! More time together, more time to play games, turn off the mindless violence. Love love love it! However, I have one teensie, tiny issue…after the writers strike, Gray’s Anatomy is finally on again…this week! Argh!

It is my one guilty pleasure. Well, the only one I am willing to share. I admit it; I wait for Thursdays. Lovingly tuck my kids in a few minutes early and then breathe a sigh of relief as I indulge myself in Dr. McDreamy. Oh well, it’s for the kids, right? So ladies, join me and support me, I may need it! We can do it! We will do it! And there is always TiVo :)

Hi Hilary! Lovely to see all your hard work on your website and here on the blog! This post made me laugh as I always remember my 1st Head of Department (at Fearnhill)would start off her talk to the new Year 7 parents with: 'If you want to make the biggest improvement to your child's education, take the television out of their bedroom!' This was always followed by a sharp intake of breath from parents and students alike! No doubt I'll catch up with you soon!Take Care, Alison - your very 1st teaching partner! x x x
